Standing water is a symptom. The solution depends on where the water starts and where it can go.
Bluecurrent evaluates low spots, downspout discharge, surface flow, outlet elevation, soil infiltration, grading, and neighboring water before recommending a drain.
FOLLOW THE WATER
Roof water: where do downspouts discharge and can they be extended or collected?
Surface water: does the grade move water toward a low point, structure, walk, or neighbor?
Soil: does water infiltrate slowly enough that a surface solution alone will keep failing?
Outlet: is there a legal, practical location lower than the collection point where water can be discharged?
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
Downspout routing or burial
Catch basin / surface collection
French drain or selected subsurface collection
Grading or swale correction
Outlet correction
Combination systems when one method cannot solve the flow path
THE SITE DOES NOT SELL A FRENCH DRAIN BEFORE THE DIAGNOSIS.
A buried drain without a workable outlet, a collection point placed above the actual low spot, or a pipe that ignores roof water can create an expensive system that still leaves the yard wet. Bluecurrent’s positioning is intentionally diagnostic-first.
